Ipseity
Ipseity is an NFT Exhibition that explores the quality of being oneself, told from the perspective of our narrator, and my sister, Christina Mei Rouse. As a person of blended ancestries — our mother is Chinese, and father German — Rouse’s narrative evokes feelings tied to mixed race identity, cultural learnings, and vivid memories of childhood. Presented as a series of dreamlike frames, singular moments are pulled from the framework of a larger life story. Composer Chris Sims soundtrack adds an ethereal, spirited companion to the visual compositions.
